ABOUT PBL

PBL was born in June 2015, registered and incorporated in 2016 as a not-for-profit organization with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms under the Ministry of Commerce, Government of Peoples Republic of Bangladesh aiming to work with the adolescents and youth, particularly women and girls to assist them to make safe and informed decisions on health, hygiene, gender based violence and harassment, sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and rights irrespective of cultural, religious and sexual orientation to enable and empower them to lead a better life.

PBL believes that lack of Knowledge, Information, and Capacity (KIC) is the critical missing link between ignorance and enlightenment, between poverty and prosperity, between discrimination and dignity, between injustice and rights, between dehumanization and empowerment. Therefore, PBL aims to provide relevant information and services so that they get easy access to comprehensive sexuality education and demand services, raise voice against discrimination, injustice and alleges into opportunities to lead a better life.

MEET EXPERT TEAM
Chairperson
He has worked more than 38 years at BRAC in different capacities such as Area Manager, Regional Manager of Microfinance Program at Field level and Head of Agriculture Program at Head Office Level. After retirement from BRAC he joined ACI and has been working as Business Director.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
He has worked more than 40 years at BRAC in different capacities such as Area Manager, Regional Manager of Microfinance Program at Field level, Monitoring Specialist of Monitoring Department, Head of HR and finally retired as General Manager of Procurement department at Head office level. After retirement from BRAC He joined MAKS Trading Limited as Director and worked there for 2 years. In addition he has been working as Independent Consultant on Procurement, HR, Monitoring and Investigation.At LEDARS, he leads the implementation of innovative development projects aimed at empowering vulnerable communities in Bangladesh's climate-affected coastal regions. His commitment to sustainable development and Human Rights drives his efforts to ensure impactful and qualitative program outcomes. He is instrumental in initiating new programs, developing fundraising strategies, and enhancing the organization's visibility and reach. With his rich experience and dedication, he is focused on addressing climate challenges and advancing LEDARS’ mission to support communities in building resilience and sustainable livelihoods.
Chief Operating Officer (COO)
She has worked more than 38 years in different NGOs like BRAC, UDDIPAN, Naripakkha, Durbar Network, CDF, IFDC and other organizations as Trainer, Gender expert and Programmer.She is specializes in mobilizing marginalized communities, coordinating impactful programs, and implementing development initiatives. She has a strong track record in team management, communication, networking, and monitoring, ensuring the success and sustainability of her projects. Ms. Laila completed her Master of Arts in General History from Khulna Govt. Mohila College (National University) in 2016. Her deep connection with the community and focus on field-oriented work make her a respected and dedicated leader in promoting resilience and empowerment for vulnerable populations.
Member
He has worked in Baking sector more than 40 years in different capacities and finally retired as Secretary of Chairman from Al Arafa Islami Bank PLC.
